my old man.

here is chewy.  

he is our beloved old man.  

chewy is 12 1/2 and in the past 6 months, he has really slowed down.  

he is no longer jumping the fence, chasing cats, and catching birds in the backyard.

instead, he spends his days inside with us sitting next the kids, sleeping in his dog bed, and getting lots of extra treats.  

he still tries to keep us on our toes from time to time though, such as getting into a bag of dog food while our homegroup was over and gaining 5 pounds in one evening.

and eating half of a cardboard box that filled with cooking pans from my grandma. 

we love this rascally guy.  

and as hard as it is to see a great dog get older and slow down, i am glad that he is a little less rascally these days.
