he is risen!
i love easter for its true meaning....that Christ has conquered the grave which allows us to have new life in Him.
i really debated about how to celebrate easter with cole this year. obviously last year he was too young to really participate in easter activities other than look adorable in his first easter outfit!) but this year was different. i decided to give him a small easter basket and do an easter egg hunt, knowing that as he gets older, we will minimize this part of easter and emphasize its true meaning.
here is his little easter basket. graham crackers, a chocolate bunny, empty eggs to play with, a book (of course) and bunny ears. he also got a book about the resurrection but it wouldn't fit in the basket.
trying his first peep.
that peep lasted about 3.2 seconds.
this was his first real piece of candy and he definitely enjoyed it.
i made little birds nests out of rice krispie treats, chocolate eggs and peeps. we ate these after our easter egg hunt.
we had the easter egg hunt over at Baylor's campus with our home group from church. there is a really pretty area with tons of flowers and grass and small trees that proved to be the perfect place for an egg hunt.
cole found his first egg!
and then immediately proceeded to sit down and open it.
this became a trend throughout the hunt.
trying to open more eggs.
i love the lighting in this picture! that and his little chubby cheeks!
a little help from dad.
it was so fun! we had a great time and good weather and lots of candy (that i enjoyed for cole).
i look forward to next year where he will begin to understand all that easter really means to us.
