one month's change.

cole was 19 months on wednesday.  i cannot believe all the things that have changed in one month!  first of all, you remember my complaining about cole's lack of teeth?  yeah, well we doubled our teeth in 1 month!  he went from 4 to 8!  and those last four teeth all came in in the last 2 weeks.  crazy!  i must say that my little man is a champ with the teething, though.  4 new teeth, 2 of them molars, and he hardly complained!

18 months was also a turning point in language.  oh. my. goodness.  this kid is saying at least one new word everyday! i can't believe it!  he literally has learned 25 new words in the last month.  just a few include apple, blueberry, orange, yogurt, bird, down, water, walk, bread, danger, snack, bath, lotion, elbow, nose, eyes, mouth and hair.

now, not all of these words are completely recognizable to the average listener.  for example, danger (which i say to him in dangerous situations) he says, day-day.  but he also widens his eyes and points his finger (just like i do!)  blueberry he says like blu-bu and water is wa-wa.  but i am still amazed that the speed of their little minds and how much they know even at 19 months.  i am sure that this novelty will wear off with my second child!

and excuse the crazy hair- it gets wild after nap time

at his 18 month appointment, he weighed in at small fry size 24.5 lbs and 32 inches tall.

and the last time i talked about his stats, i bragged about cole never being sick.  well, i never should have said that because this month he got poison ivy, his first ear infection (that we didn't even know about until his checkup) and a virus that resulted in a rash.  thankfully the poison ivy and ear infection were treated during his checkup and the virus we just toughed it out.  but the baby looked horrible!  he's a champ though.  all this has not slowed him down for a second!
